Day 6 #75Hard (10 August 2019)

Today was the easiest far!

Previous days, mainly the last two days, have started off with me needing to drag my arse outta bed. Each day got better, but I struggled.

Today is different.

0613hrs - morning workout complete. Sitting in my backyard watching the sunrise waiting for the family to wake up and kick start our Saturday. As i sit, i reflect on the journey so far.

Some key observations to this point:

  • Increased endurance.

  • Good balance of activity.

  • Energy throughout the day generally increasing.

  • More housework getting done as a result.

  • Productivity increased at work.

  • Excited for the future.

  • I know I can do this!

  • And Jack the dog is loving all the walks and runs.

I am also taking in a bunch more information too. I am reading more at night, currently "Working With Warriors" by Regional Men's Health. I am also listening for a second time (via audible) Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin. Awesome for leadership and focusing on my day ahead. How I can show up better in all areas!

These are a few of the main observations so far.

It is a bloody cool experience. The biggest challenge to date is diet. And not really the main portion of the diet which is no bread products and zero grog. It's the removing of fruit from the diet, and it isn't because I miss it, it's because by habit while making the boys lunches and brekky I used to find myself eating some blueberries and a banana here and there. So now it is being aware of that temptation and not eating it. Another example of discipline I am working on. The sun is rising over the neighbours house so time to get on with the day.

Wanted to bust out more for the overhead press, but couldn't get the 10X10. So did the best I could!

2111hrs - All parts of the challenge complete today except for the reading portion which i will do in bed shortly.

Alison just came home from a run with Jack. I punched out a barbell workout in the backyard. Squats and overhead press.

Gonna be sore tomorrow.
